Course Details

This three-day course provides the hands-on skills required by team members responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010. First, you will learn how-to install and configure TFS components for specific team scenarios and how to implement advanced security options. Then you learn how to manage the day-to-day activities associated with source control for a team of developers.

You will also learn how to: work with the process template, access TFS project data, generate various reports, and how to install additional tools to improve team productivity for your development projects.

The TFS 2010 for Administrators Training includes an equal mix of lecture and hands-on lab exercises designed to ensure attendees gain the essential skills.

Upon course completion, attendees will be able to:

• Plan the deployment of a TFS 2010 environment
• Install and configure TFS 2010 and its prerequisite components
• Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance
• Create a backup plan for the TFS infrastructure
• Create team projects and team project collections
• Configure and maintain security and permissions
• Configure source control settings and policies
• Install third party process templates and have a basic concept of how to customize these templates
• Understand the reporting components in TFS and add additional reports
• Install and configure a build environment including build controllers and agents
• Install and use a variety of third party tools
