Course Details

This two-day course is designed to get your team working quickly and efficiently with Visual Studio 2010. First, you will learn about the benefits of team development using an integrated Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) suite and how to work with the various components that make up Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

Then you will learn how to create and configure a Team Project and manage work efficiently using linked Work Items and customized queries. You will also learn how to work with the version control system to check-in/check-out, branch, merge, shelve, and more. This course includes hands-on labs to reinforce practical skills and ensure you’re ready to use the Visual Studio tools on your return to your workplace.

At the completion of this course, attendees will be able to;

• Create, configure and manage Team Projects
• Manage work using Work Items
• Configure appropriate linking between work items for traceability
• Create and customize Work Item Queries to find and organize work
• Use the version control system effectively including configuring workspaces
• Branch and merge source control
• Use multiple client interfaces including Web Access, Team Explorer and Microsoft Office
• Use the Project Portal correctly and store project artifacts in the best location
• Use the existing reports and create new reports in TFS
