This 2-day workshop provides Project Managers, Business Analysts and Team Leaders the essential skills required to effectively manage a software development project using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and Team Foundation Server 2010. While not a dedicated Scrum course, this workshop focuses on MSF for Agile Software Development and covers many of the practices commonly used by agile Scrum teams.
In this course, attendees will plan a new software development project and go through the steps required to initiate the project using Visual Studio 2010. Topics include: gathering requirements, estimating tasks, assigning tasks, and conveying priorities to the team. Students will use the Agile planning workbooks to plan sprints for their team and learn how to track project risks to help ensure an ultimately successful project.
The course will also examine how to track the quality of the software your team is developing and how to set and maintain a suitable quality level. You will also learn how to generate the many new reports included with TFS 2010 and how to create your own reports using Microsoft Excel.
This course includes hands-on labs to reinforce practical skills and ensure you’re ready to use the tools on your return to your workplace.
