Description: In this course, you will learn how to use Visual Studio 2005 with Visual C# 2008 (or Visual Basic 2008) to build ASP.NET 3.5 Web pages and MS Web services. This course is designed for developers who have some experience with develeloping applications using Visual Basic or Visual C#. First, you will learn about the new architecture in ASP.NET 3.5 and how to build sites using different client and server controls.
You will also learn how to use new ASP.NET 3.5 features such as LINQ to retrieve and modify data from external data sources and how to use AJAX and Silverlight to create rich media user interfaces. You will learn how to use Master Pages to create consistent looking Web sites and how to add membership and role features for authenticating users and managing access to site resources. Finally, you will learn how to configure, manage, deploy, and monitor ASP.NET applications for a production environment.

- Introduction to ASP.NET - Describes the ASP.NET architecture and explains how to build robust, scalable, and secure web sites
- Working with Controls – Shows you how to build sites using ASP.NET controls including basic web controls, validation controls, list controls, rich user controls, and custom controls.
- Using Rich User Controls – Build and use task-specific controls and how to convert web forms into user controls.
- Validating User Input – Use validation controls to perform client-side and server-side validation depending on browser capabilities.
- Access Data Sources using LINQ – Create applications that query, filter, order, and group data from external data sources.
- Using Data Binding Controls – Bind data to an .aspx page using data-bound controls.
- Build Site Navigation Features – Use site-navigation controls to render navigation links and create a well-managed navigation solution.
- Creating an AJAX-enabled Web Site – Implement AJAX client and server controls.
- Working with Themes and Master Pages – Define a consistent look of pages and controls for a web site using themes and ASP.NET master pages.
- Adding Silverlight to a Web Page – Build the next generation of cutting-edge media rich web pages using Silverlight.
- Creating and Consuming WCF Services – Create and host services based on the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).
