Designing Enterprise SOA Solutions
Duration: 2 Days
Format: Instructor-led seminar
Audience: Solution architects and lead developers who want to learn how to use Microsoft products and technologies to design the next generation of service oriented architecture (SOA) applications.
Description: This two-day class will show you how Microsoft Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) products and technologies can help you realize a more agile and connected enterprise. This class starts with an overview of service orientation principals and then shows you how Microsoft modeling, integration, and workflow products enable the development of enterprise integration and business process automation solutions.
In this class you will learn about:
- Services and Messaging (service orientation)- How to build web services that support the latest WS-* standards endorsed by all major vendors. Also, how Software Factories enable the rapid development of Web services through tooling support.
- Business Process and Workflow – How to build applications that support long-running business processes, perform compensation for failed transaction and enable human interaction within a workflow.
- Identify and Access (federated identity) - How to implement identity and access solutions to address common security concerns presented by the Web. Also, how identity federation enables a user to transparently access services that require a different set of credentials.
- User Experience – How to develop user rich interfaces through the use of styles and templates and how to share common design elements across your application through the use of resources.
- Federated Data – How to implement database technology to enable scale-up/scale-out, asynchronous messaging support, and how to do Master Data Management so that your SOA project has access to a consistent view of data.
- Management and Governance – How to use Microsoft products and solutions to enhance the dynamic capability of its people, process, and the IT infrastructure.
- Tools and Modeling - How Microsoft modeling and development tools enable new solutions to be developed faster, cheaper and better though industrialization of software development. Also, how to enable collaboration across the extended team of project managers, architects, developers, testers, and business stakeholders.
This class includes the following product and technology demonstrations:
- Managing the development process with Team Foundation Server (TFS)
- Integrating and automating business processes with BizTalk Server 2006 and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF)
- Building integration and collaboration solutions with SharePoint
- Building user interfaces with the Windows Presenation Foundation (WPF)
- Integrating and collaborating with SharePoint Server 2007
- Consuming Web services with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
- Create a WCF Web service using the Web Service Software Factory (WSSF)
- Implementing an identify solution with CardSpace
- Synchronizing data using SQL Server 2005
