Lorraine Vance General Manager
Lorraine Vance has over twenty years' experience in the training industry, and has
enjoyed roles in training, training management, technical writing, and curriculum development. Her professional
background is primarily in standardized testing and second language acquisition, and she has found the crossover
to IT training since joining QuickLearn both interesting and rewarding.
Lorraine loves to travel and spend time with her children. She holds advanced degrees in literature, is a certified
martial arts instructor, and can kill a man with her pinky.
John Callaway Technical Guru Mentor
John Callaway has many years of experience developing enterprise-level applications and teaching
advanced courses based on Microsoft products and technologies. Prior to joining QuickLearn as an instructor, John
worked as a independent Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) delivering C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, SharePoint, Commerce
Server, and BizTalk Server classes across the U.S.
Since joining QuickLearn, John has developed a number of Microsoft courses including Host Integration Server,
BizTalk Server 2004, 2006 and 2009, and SharePoint Server. John is also the original developer and primary
instructor for the BizTalk Deep Dive training, which has been taught to thousands of students worldwide.
When John isn't travelling the world teaching classes, he likes to spend time with his family at home.
Rob Callaway BizTalk Instructor Mentor
Rob Callaway has worked in the IT industry since 2002. He got his start as a Network and System
Administrator, which evolved into .NET Development. He joined QuickLearn Training in 2005, where he was first
introduced to BizTalk Server. Since then, his primary focus has been all things BizTalk Server. He was the primary
author on QuickLearn's BizTalk Developer Immersion, BizTalk Administrator Immersion, and Expert Series BRE, EDI,
and BAM courses. While not developing QuickLearn Training's courses, Rob travels the world teaching; averaging over
30 weeks of classes a year. He was also the primary author of Microsoft's BizTalk Server 2006 training (2933 and
2934), as well as the BizTalk Server 2006 Technical Specialist exam.
Rob's specialization in BizTalk Server has earned him the privilege of speaking at BizTalk user groups around the
globe, as well as Microsoft events (e.g. TechReady). In his free time, he works as a BizTalk
development/administration consultant, and loves spending time with his wife and three dachshunds.
Alan Smith Trainer Content Developer
Anthony Borton Technologist Trainer
Anthony Borton is a Microsoft Visual Studio ALM MVP and is QuickLearn's Visual Studio ALM
technologist and trainer. Has has been an MCP and MCT for more than 15 years and has completed over 50 exams
including MS exam 001. He is a Professional Scrum Developer Trainer and has been a Certified ScrumMaster for
a number of years. As a regular conference presenter, you may have seen Anthony at TechEd, PDC, and the
Microsoft internal TechReady conference.
Anthony develops all of our ALM training and teaches classes worldwide. In addition to teaching ALM courses,
Anthony can also provide ALM mentoring and consulting services to help improve the productivity of your
Nick Hauenstein Sr. Software Dev. Engineer Instructor/Mentor
Nick Hauenstein has been a software development engineer for the last 16 years, with a heavy
.NET focus since 2003. Since joining QuickLearn, he has authored numerous training guides and hands-on labs
for training courses covering a variety of topics, including: BizTalk Server, ASP.NET, WCF, LINQ, WPF, Advanced
SharePoint Development, Silverlight and the ESB Toolkit.
In addition to his roles as a Software Development Engineer, and Courseware Designer, Nick is also an Instructor
who specializes in delivering BizTalk, Team Foundation Server, SharePoint, WCF and ESB courses. He has presented
technical sessions at industry events and has taught advanced classes to Microsoft employees at Microsoft
internal events (e.g. TechReady). He holds two MCSD certifications, and Charter Member MCTS certifications for
both BizTalk Server 2010 and WCF 4.0.
Paul Pemberton Software Development Engineer
Paul Pemberton is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer, and has many years of .NET development
experience, particularly in ASP.NET. He cut his teeth on QBasic, and has since honed his experience in on the
.NET platform. Paul received a B.A. in Communication through Northwest University, and has a very broad
education in technical writing, marketing, graphic arts, chemistry, biology and physics.
In his free time, when he's not playing with his kids or taking classes, Paul works on artistic compositions.
